About

Dr. King's Dream

"Art, you continue to perfect your Art! What a well done performance all around. The Venue was just right, the timing ideal, and the talent excellent. Best of all, the content, informing the audience of such important historical speeches and the background leading up to them was impactful. I feel the high schools in the Tri-Cities should be clamoring for you to come and give a presentation at an assembly to their students. "

Cynthia M. - Pasco, Wa

"I was a ten-year-old white boy when Dr. King marched on Washington.  Many of my classmates were black and even then, I had a hard time wrapping my head around the obvious injustice that resulted by just the color of one's skin.  Years later, the public-school curriculum generally included Dr. King's speech, but as time went on, little context was provided.  We now have many generations who know not of the disparity of "equal justice" under the law for all.  Your well-crafted presentation puts the message into perspective.  Dr. King's legacy has affected us all regardless of race, color or creed.  Peace is indeed an ongoing process, and it is difficult (sadly), especially with today's oppression that we are witnessing at every turn.  I do not want to go back where a man's character is judged by their complexion and who they worship.
Thank you for your message and Daphne Jackson's  amazing voice."

On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his historical speech, "I have a Dream” to the audience attending the March on Washington.  Very few know the background causing the speech to be delivered on that historic day. The Dream speech was not the speech Dr. King planned to deliver.

Arthur delivers his presentation, which reveals the origins of this historic speech.

Arthur’s versatility as a storyteller and multi-topic presenter, including motivational and historical speeches, help others to understand the power centered on what we believe, and how we can maximize our existing potential for success.

“The performance was amazing! Arthur is a wonderful speaker, and the story brought tears to my eyes. Powerful!”

Melissa M. - Connell, WA

"The highest praise to the MLK, Jr. event I attended yesterday at the Richland Playhouse. The singer had an amazing voice and Arthur Broady's historical accounting of the ““I have a Dream”” speech was both educational and moving. I was a rare pleasure!"

Linda L. - Benton City, WA.

“Great and meaningful presentation! My wife and I really enjoyed it. God Bless!”

Danny H. - Pasco, WA

"We were incredibly impressed with your performance yesterday and Daphne's singing was absolutely beautiful. Your knowledge of Dr. King and his legacy is truly something that needs to be shared and kept alive today. We can't let the sacrifices of Dr. King and all those who fought for civil rights and equality vanish. It's just as important today as it was 60 years ago."

Karen S. - Kennewick, WA

"An excellent pairing of education and entertainment. A fitting Tribute. It is unfortunate that the message is as important now as when originally spoken. You did them justice. Excellent performance. Thank you."

Bonnie C. - Richland,, Wa

“Thank you for the awesome presentation yesterday. You did a fantastic job and truly brought Dr. King’s message back to life for me. Your presentation belongs on a national stage.”

Scott C. - Kennewick, WA

"Arthur and Daphne’s powerful delivery of the historical MLK, Jr.’s speech and the story surrounding it was absolutely enthralling. The presentation, along with the beautiful vocals, bring you back in time…giving you a stronger understanding of the origins of that historical moment."

Windy W. - Sunnyside, WA

"The 'Legacy' presentation yesterday by Arthur Broady was excellent! It was the second time I had seen "The Dream We Almost Never Heard" portion and it was better than the first! Also, the addition of the "Nobel Prize for Peace" portion was also fantastic. Very educational. Daphne Jackson's singing was fabulous and a great addition to the overall presentation."

Joanne  S. - Tri Cities, Wa

"We enjoyed your presentation, Friday at the Richland Players Theater.  Having both presentations, “The Dream we almost Never Heard” and “Nobel Prize for Peace”, was a real plus.  You put on superb performances and Daphne added a lot for the two historical events."

Larry F. - Richland, Wa

It was so great to see you at the Martin Luther King event at Richland Players. I found it to be inspiring, moving, and enlightening—an experience that did not end when the program concluded. In a time marked by political unrest and deeply polarizing issues in our country, hearing Dr. King’s words felt not only relevant, but critically necessary. His vision of justice, unity, and nonviolent love speaks with renewed urgency in the world we are living in today.

After hearing those words and melodies, I went home and purchased Behind the Dream by Clarence B. Jones, in order to gain deeper insight into Dr. King’s life, leadership, and enduring legacy.

Thank you for offering such a meaningful gift of remembrance, honoring the life and times of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reminding us why his vision continues to matter.
