Come and celebrate the life and sacrifices of Reverend Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. by attending the extraordinary performances of Arthur Broady and Daphne Jackson.
Arthur’s story telling will return us to the historic March on Washington, D.C. in August 1963 and Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. “The Dream We Almost Never Heard” reveals the true backstory of the speech that changed our country forever.
Also, the audience will be provided the back story connected to Dr. King’s “Nobel Prize for Peace Acceptance Speech” delivered in December 1964. You will be reminded of the year-long civil rights battles including killings and bombings which raised issues around the decision to award and to accept the Nobel Prize for Peace.
Daphne Jackson will provide several gospel and patriotic musical selections to honor both Dr. King and the country he died for.
